AgriFood Startup Seed Camp is a flagship incubation programme by AIC Anand Foundation, designed to identify, nurture, and accelerate innovative startups in the agriculture and food sector.
Through this program, promising early-stage startups receive structured incubation, expert mentoring, and access to funding opportunities to transform their innovations into scalable ventures.
The programme combines practical training, mentorship, ecosystem access, and funding facilitation within a focused 1-month hybrid incubation journey.
Applications are typically invited 2–3 times each year.

Programme Overview

The AgriFood Startup Seedcamp aims to support early-stage innovators, entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and startups working in agriculture, food systems, and allied sectors.
Selected startups go through a 1-month hybrid incubation programme, combining in-person sessions at the AAU Incubation Center, Anand and online expert sessions.
The program focuses on:
• Validating startup ideas
• Developing viable business models
• Building market-ready products
• Connecting startups with investors and government support schemes

At the end of the program, promising startups are supported in accessing grants, investments, and incubation support through AIC Anand Foundation and its partner ecosystem.

Startup Selection & Incubation
Promising startups are selected through a competitive process and incubated at AIC Anand Foundation, Anand Agricultural University.
Structured Startup Training
Participants undergo an intensive 1-month hybrid programme covering:

• SSIP (Student Startup and Innovation Policy), Govt. of Gujarat

Programme Structure
Stage 1 — Startup Selection
Open calls are announced 2–3 times per year. Applications are reviewed, and shortlisted startups are invited for pitching.
Stage 2 — Seedcamp Training (1 Month Hybrid)
Selected startups participate in a structured incubation programme consisting of:

• Market strategy development
Sessions are conducted both online and physically at the AAU Incubation Center, Anand.

1. How often is the programme conducted?
The AgriFood Startup Seedcamp typically opens 2–3 cohorts each year, depending on the incubation calendar.
2. What is the duration of the programme?
The programme runs for one month and follows a hybrid format with both online and in-person sessions.
3. Is there any participation fee?
No. The programme is offered free of cost to selected startups.
4. If the one-month seed camp program is free, can startups engage with AIC after one month through a long-term incubation agreement, and is equity sharing involved?

For support and facilitation, beyond the sponsored one-month incubation programme, AIC Anand Foundation offers additional engagement models.
Under its SAFE arrangement, selected startups may offer a small equity stake in exchange for continued incubation support.​
​
The equity stake is minor and determined on a case-by-case basis based on the startup stage, support provided, infrastructure access, mentorship, and funding facilitated.

The terms are mutually discussed and finalised with each startup on a case-by-case basis.

5. What kind of startups can apply?
Startups working in agriculture, food systems, agri-technology, rural innovation, and allied sectors are encouraged to apply.
Early-stage ideas, prototypes, MVP-stage, and Seed Stage startups are welcome.

6. Do I need to be based in Anand to participate?
Not full-time. It is a hybrid programme, and startups from across India can apply.
However, certain components of the programme—such as week-long knowledge sessions/workshops, evaluations, and review meetings—will require the physical participation of at least one key founder at the AAU Incubation Centre, Anand, Gujarat.

7. Will my startup receive funding through this programme?
The programme does not guarantee funding, but selected startups are actively supported in accessing funding through:
• RKVY RAFTAAR
• Startup Gujarat
• SSIP
• Other funding grants and private investment opportunities available through the AIC network.

8. What happens after the Seedcamp programme?
As programme alumni, startups continue to receive need-based support, mentorship, funding opportunities, exhibition opportunities, and are featured across AIC Anand Foundation’s publications, events, media platforms, and ecosystem networks—enhancing their visibility among industry, investors, and stakeholders.
